Mission: AshaKiran is committed to educate, empathize and empower persons of South Asian and other foreign-born origins while providing culturally sensitive and confidential services to people experiencing traumatic/stressful situations.

AshaKiran is committed to empowering culturally sensitive communities through outreach with a variety of annual community events such as the Community Kite Festival, State-Wide Human Chain Event Against Domestic Violence, North AL Health & Wellness Fair and Asha Tea Time - a one of a kind monthly networking event. AshaKiran also provides "culturally competent" services in 36+ languages, 24 HR Crisis Phone AshaLine "Hope-Line," emergency shelter, accompaniment, transportation, advocacy, case management, counseling, translation/interpretation, information & referral and with programs like the Multi-Lingual Access Model (MLAM) and the New Alabamians Program (NAP). AshaKiran's cross-cultural awareness training focuses on areas such as domestic violence, sexual assault, cultural competency, and developmental disabilities.
